Having spent her childhood under both traditionally liberal and conservative settings, Cho was inspired to examine the intricacies behind normative institutions that perpetuate power imbalances along gender and racial lines in society. She soon became immersed in the work of philanthropy as an unrelenting advocate of human rights, seeking to provide mediums of service and therapy to empower vulnerable individuals.
